Membership FAQs

Do I need to have my own horse?

Non-horse owners are equally welcome and encouraged to love our herd as their own.

How long does my membership last?

All memberships are annual (12 months) in duration.

Can I cancel my membership?

Memberships may be cancelled at any time. You’ll forfeit membership fees through the month when your cancellation notice is received, but you won’t be charged future monthly fees.

Do you offer therapeutic riding or behavioral therapy for people?

We are not a therapeutic riding facility, though we’re happy to recommend some if that’s what you’re looking for. The Center is horse-centric, meaning we exist to advocate for horse welfare and responsible horse riding and ownership. Everything we do is in service to the horse.

How do I pay for my membership?

We accept recurring PayPal payments and all major credit cards (which will be automatically charged each month). Online payment will be available soon. Meanwhile, please email clinics@karenososki.com to become a member.

What type of outside equine professionals will we learn from?

We give members holistic exposure to a variety of horse-related topics throughout the year. You’ll hear from veterinarians, professors, bodyworkers (horse and human), nutritionists, behaviorists, yoga instructors, competitive riders and trainers, and more.

What if I have an idea for an activity or discussion topic?

Please tell us! We do our best to give members access to a wide variety of experiences, riding and horse health education, and outside professionals. If you think of something you’d like to learn about–or a professional you’d like to hear from–we’d love to talk to you about it. This community is for YOU!

Can members be asked to leave?

We reserve the right to ask any member to leave the community (and revoke membership accordingly) if behavioral, attitude, or safety issues occur that are a distraction or disruption to other students or staff

What is expected of members?

A community only flourishes when everyone participates and supports each other. Members are asked to attend classes and clinics (as schedules allow) and be open to change and new ideas. Most importantly, members should exercise The Golden Rule and extend the same kindness, support, and empathy to others (horses and humans) as they wish to be shown.

Can I use my own horse?

Absolutely! Members are encouraged to bring their horses to the Center for clinics, workshops, and retreats. Please check with Karen first to ensure vaccination requirements and safety procedures are followed.

If you prefer to leave your equine partner at home, you’re always welcome to engage with our onsite herd.
